Who we are
This website is operated by S.M.E.I. Projects Zambia Limited, part of the S.M.E.I. Projects group. We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website.
What we collect
When you send us an enquiry we collect the details you enter in the form:
- your name, company, email address and phone number;
- the type of project and the message you send us;
- the page you sent the enquiry from.
If you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp shares your phone number and messages with us. We may also collect anonymous statistics about how visitors use the site (pages visited, device type and approximate location) to improve it.
How we use it
We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, discuss your project and keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.
Who we share it with
Your enquiry may be shared with S.M.E.I. Projects group colleagues in South Africa who support our Zambian operations. Form submissions are stored by our website host (Netlify) and delivered to our email system. These providers process the information on our behalf and may store it outside Zambia.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to respond and to manage any resulting project or business relationship, and then delete them.
Your rights
Under Zambia's Data Protection Act, 2021 (and, where our South African colleagues process your information, South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act), you may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it.
